Spring Break - Wednesday!

So we are still going strong. It was zoo day! I forgot my camera, how I could do that I have no idea. I guess it happens to the best of us. It was a bad bad day to forget the camera.
Have you ever had a day at the zoo when every animal is in performance mode? I am not kidding. The weather was perfect, not to hot, when it is all the animals just lay and sleep in the shade. Don't go to the zoo in LA in the summer. This day, PERFECT, and breezy! To top that off I think everyone thought the zoo would be too busy so they stayed away, it was EMPTY! Seriously, we could walk up to every animal and just hang out, there was no waiting for an empty space against the fence, there was always room for all of us, we brought our friends Mary Jo and Hunter Hatch plus we had the Morris fam with us too!
We did not see one sleeping animal, except for the alligators, but what do they do anyway? The meerkat, wide awake, running around, playing, same with the lions, tigers, bears, giraffes, elephant, zebras, hello!, even the hippo saw we were there climbed out of the water over to the fence and opened its mouth as wide as it would go, and that is wide for a hippo! when we were ready to go on to the next animal the hippo walked back into the water and just sat like they normally do. The kids had a great time. The best, oh la la, the gorillas!!!!!!! The LA zoo has an all new gorilla habitat, it is amazing! The gorillas were all just walking around eating and this silverback looks over right at Ian and walks over right in front of us, stands up and raises his arms above his head. He was huge, it was amazing, it was like he just walked over to show himself off. Needless to say Ian was freaked, he stayed still and watched with huge wide eyes but he had a tight hold of me and was as stiff as a board until the gorilla left. It was cool!
Even though it was spring break the dance studio is still opened so we were home by 4:30 to get Olivia and Sophie to their ballet classes!
Disneyland tomorrow..........

Gotta love those zoo days. We experienced one of those at a zoo down in CO Springs. Even the hippos were performing for us. Great show....as now you know!
